My little pony nintendo ds games

At the same time. There's some kind of underground cloning experiment going on in Ponyville. Pinkie Pie's Pony pals will task her to complete mini-games like scooter racing, balloon popping and memorizing dance routines. Each of these games is incredibly simple, reinforcing the fact that this game is meant for the youngest set of female DS owners. But simplicity almost always goes hand-in-hand with lack of depth, and that's certainly the case here.

The game is over too quickly. Tracking down every one of Pinkie Pie's presents, and the additional hidden puzzle piece items, takes a grand total of 45 minutes.

Maybe an hour. After that, you can open the presents -- each of the 20 containing some mild amusement -- and that's that. The game is done. You can continue to walk around the town or replay the mini-games, but there's nothing with any real lasting appeal here.

On the positive end, though, it should be said that everything in the Pinkie Pie's Party package looks very nice. The visuals are all strictly 2D, which could be taken critically -- but the style works well for this material. Ponyville is vibrant and each Pony character is represented well. And some of the close-up 2D elements, like opening Pinkie Pie's presents, make great use of large 2D artwork on the touch screen.

That's nice. Verdict And that's really the feeling overall for My Little Pony: Pinkie Pie's Party -- what's here is nice, looks good and represents the Pony brand well for the young female fans who'll be playing the game, but there just isn't enough game to play in the end. With a core adventure mode that will last less than the time it takes to complete a single car ride to a town less than one hour away, parents may find they've paid for an amusement that doesn't end up occupying their daughters' interests for long enough to justify the expense.

Multiple minigames, including Making Music, Decorating for the Party and Bubble Pop, lead gamers to the presents' locations. Hidden puzzle pieces encourage exploration.
