Worlds goriest game

You have to see it to believe. Gears Of War Gamers will forever remember this title as two things: One of the best things to come for the Xbox , and… chainsaw gun. God Of War 3 With all the entries depicting such Olympic-god brutality, it is the first title to make it onto the PlayStation 3 we have to give it to.

With the graphics of the PS3, the bloodshed and rampage of Kratos was some of the most stylish also some of the most stomach- turning to be found in gaming at that time. Many of us will never forget the cinematic sequence where Kratos kills the Greek god Poseidon. Mortal Kombat X You knew this was absolutely going to be on this list.

And similar to the title previously mentioned, the graphic power found in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have helped to make Mortal Kombat X one of the most over-the-top, raunchy and gory games in history. Sure, you can simply use the plethora of ranged weapons to slaughter the demonic hordes, but id Software and Bethesda gave you Glory Kills and a chainsaw for a good reason.

You may as well start ripping those demons in two with your bare hands. Playing mostly as former Centurion warrior Agrippa, you murder your way through the gladitorial arenas of the Roman empire, cutting a bloody swathe through history. Yes, the Fallout series is quite familiar with the old ultra violence, and the Wild Wasteland perk present in those games just adds to that effect. The over-the-top aesthetic that the top down shooter has managed to cultivate is only amplified by the liberal splashes of blood that soak each level upon completion.

Somehow, the pixellation makes it more disturbing. Now, the series is filled more vibrant colours than just red, but the gore never left. Sniper Elite play back your kills in realistic detail, Mortal Kombat 11 rewards currency for fatalities that you can spend in The Krypt, but Bulletstorm takes the cake.

You had to expect that a game where you gain more power by devouring the hearts of your enemies would be loaded with gore, and The Darkness 2 fits that bracket. While the first was arguably gorier, The Darkness 2 felt better to play, with its quad-wielding gameplay adding something new to the FPS genre. Thankfully, those congressmen were successful and not a single violent game has ever been made since. Oh wait, no. My mistake. The Mortal Kombat franchise is still going strong 27 years later and it's more brutally violent than ever.

Certainly God of War's Kratos is no stranger to bathing in the blood of his enemies. Case in point: After interrogating Helios in God of War 3 , you get to tear his head off -- with gory, flesh-rending realism.

There's plenty of gore to be had in Resident Evil games, but the fourth installment in the series really shines in the blood-and-guts department. Few scenes from Resident Evil 4 are more iconic than this burlap-sacked Ganado tearing poor Leon's head off with a chainsaw.

Not that Resident Evil 6 didn't have its own share of gruesomely gory death scenes. Like when this Rasklapanje feeds Leon -- and itself -- into a meat massive grinder. This exceptionally grim indie title available on Steam has a stomach-churning number of decapitation scenes.

Seriously, though, what the hell is it with Dead Space 2 and eye gouging? Necromorphs are jerks. Harvester, a grim and grizzly PC point-and-click from , is absolutely filled with over-the-top gore. In one poorly-acted scene, you come across a gang of naughty triplets eating their mom alive.

As in, gruesomely terrible acting. You can watch your skin melt off your hands clear down to the bone in Bioshock Infinite. But that's nothing when compared to the game's goriest moment, which involves an incredibly racist stage show and a sky-hook to the face.

Think you need advanced CGI to make a gory cutscene? Point-and-click game Phantasmagoria has plenty of horrible Hollywood-style live-action gore, like this scene where your face gets torn open like a warm melon.

When it comes to ripping out someone's spine, there are two ways to do it. Mortal Kombat's Sub Zero does it the "gentle" way. Install Steam. It is only visible to you. If you believe your item has been removed by mistake, please contact Steam Support.
